A Follow-UP Visit towards Boosting Research Potential for NU Students (Second Batch)

Prof. Dr. Sujin Jinahyon and his senior administrative team received a visit of Prof. Dr. Eberhart Zrenner, Director of Centre for Ophthalmology, Institute for Ophthalmic Research, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany.  The person came to meet with the first batch of students under ‘Boosting Research Potential for NU Students’ and took this opportunity to query in-depth information from the 14 second batch students who would participate in the program supported by DAAD and other key research institution in Germany between August 24 and September 3, 2014.  During his visit, he discussed collaborative activities with Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and Faculty of Medicine, including its self-operated hospital in terms of vision diseases, laboratory training, and scientific lectures where it was envisioned that in 2015 healthcare development would be growing at the fastest scale to meet demands of increasing global population.  Prof. Zrenner also recommended that the group of students pay a visit to University of Applied Sciences Aalen, whose speciality lies into optometry and located adjacent to Carl Zeiss Headquarters in Oberkochen.  Faculty of Allied Health Sciences planned to send a group of academic staff to further their study in the field of Radiology at Universität Tübingen and proposed to renew the near expired MoU at the end of June 2014; Prof. Zrenner welcomed this request.
The meeting was held on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 10.00 a.m. at Suphankanlaya Conference Room 1, Office of the President.
