NU to Commit a Stronger Linkage with Myanmar

On June 12, 2013, a group of senior administrative staff visited Yezin Agricultural University, located in Naypyidaw, to discuss collaborative activities in Agricultural Sciences and observed research facilities in Department of Agronomy, Department of Horticulture, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Department of Burmese, and Department of English. The Naresuan University team also participated in the Educational Seminar and Education Exhibition on ‘Myanmar-Thailand Cooperation in Higher Education: Strengthening Links’ arranged by the Thai Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC) at Diamond Jubilee Hall in Yangon on June 13, 2013. This seminar incorporates influential figures from Myanmar and Thailand such as Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar, Union Minister of Education, Thai Minister of Education, Director-General of Department of Higher Education, Lower Myanmar, and Secretary-General of OHEC. The venue accommodated participants from HEIs in Myanmar and Thailand who came to not only witness keynote lectures in the morning session but also took part in panel discussions in the afternoon categorized into 4 groups: Science and Engineering, Social Sciences and Language, Tourism and Hotel Management, International Business and Business Administration. On June 14, 2013, the NU staff members split into 2 groups and headed to Yangon University and Dagon University to explore possible cooperation in mutual fields of interests.
