Introduction


One of the rapidly expanding fields covering new territories of human brains and consequently, their behaviors, is neuroscience known as the “Science for the Future.” It is the indispensable foundation for the understanding of mental science through theories of the Mind-Brain-Body connection. As a multidisciplinary approach, the program is honored by experts as supervisors in Neurosurgery, Neuromedicine, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation Medicine, Molecular Neuroscience, Neurophysiology, and Neuropharmacology. Students may carry on the Ph.D. fulfillment without a leave of absence from work. Moreover, on the job research topics are encouraged for clinical research to complement other basic research endeavors by their peers. Our program is vicariously guaranteed its quality since our faculty members have been awarded Royal Golden Jubilee Grants from the Thailand Research Fund.

Special Admission Requirements

Qualifications of applicants are as follows:

Research-based

  • Option 1.1 :
    • Master Degree in Neuroscience, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Science.
    • G.P.A. not less than 3.25
    • At least a paper presented or published in an academic forum /conference or journal.
  • Option 1.2 :
    • Bachelor Degree in Medical Sciences, Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or Veterinary Science.
    • G.P.A not less than 3.50
    • At least one paper presented or published in an academic forum /conference or journal.
    • At least one year work experience.

Research-based with some coursework

  • Option 2.1 :
    • Master Degree in Neuroscience, Anatomy, Physiology, Medical Sciences, Pharmaceutical Science, or Clinical Psychology.
  • Option 2.2 :
    • Bachelor Degree in Biological Sciences
    • G.P.A not less than 3.50
    • In case of students transferred from Master’s programs in Anatomy, Physiology Biochemistry, Medical Sciences, or Pharmaceutical Sciences (Option 2) to the option 2.2 program, the following criteria are applied:
    • Undergraduate G.P.A. of at least 3.25
    • At least 12 master’s credits accrued or studied for least 2 semesters, with not less than 3.50 G.P.A. with the committee’s approval.

Other requests are at the Committee’s discretion.

  • Nutritional medicine and herbal medicine related to brain functions (for prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of Neurological diseases)
  • Behavioral Neuroscience and Cognitive Neuroscience related to Aging and Dementia
  • Drug addiction including mechanisms, treatments, and rehabilitation of addicted brains
  • Neuronal stem cells and Neurogenesis
