Naresuan University’s Arts and Culture Promotion Division organized the opening ceremony of the Suk Salao Market project, guided by the concept of 3 Suk: “Happiness, Ripeness, and Friday,” alongside the launch of the “Phitsanulok City Rooster-Themed Shirts” by the brand Wasuk.<\/p>\n

On January 26, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., Associate Professor Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, Acting President of Naresuan University, had the honor of chairing the opening ceremony of Suk Salao Market. The event was conceived to underscore the significance of developing and managing art and cultural learning spaces effectively, maximizing the potential of the surrounding area. The market features a selection of non-toxic fruits and vegetables sourced directly from local farmers, as well as local cuisine, handmade crafts, and artworks contributed by students, alumni, faculty, and the broader community. This initiative aims to foster community engagement and support the university’s transformation into a sustainable Community Village. It operates on the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R), with a focus on optimizing available resources. This involves minimizing market decoration costs (starting at 0 baht), repurposing old public relations vinyl for walkway decoration under the parasols, and creatively utilizing various materials for decoration and tie-dyeing, promoting reuse and the artistic expression of culture.<\/p>\n

Simultaneously, the event marked the official launch of the “Phitsanulok City Rooster-Themed Shirts” by the brand Wasuk, designed by Ajarn Nichakorn Kerdpiam from the Faculty of Architecture, Art, and Design. Inspired by the yellow chicken with a white tail emblematic of King Naresuan the Great, these shirts will be officially available for purchase in February at the NU Souvenir and Textile Product Distribution Center, Naresuan University.<\/p>\n
