A group of Myanmar executives in hospitality and tourism sector, brought by Phitsanulok Chamber of Commerce, was welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University. \u00a0A discussion focused on a Twin Cities research project, supported by United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which aims to elevate quality of life and support aging people along the border of Thailand; i.e., Mae Sod in Tak province close to neighbouring cities in Myanmar. The policy-level project utilize data, technology, knowledge and know-hows in identifying causes of migration of young people to cities and coming with the use of alternative energy such as solar rooftop in the focuses area to name just a few. \u00a0Other activities that are underway with Myanmar include, but not limited to, a training program for principals and staff members in high schools located in Mon State to understand and properly respond with Disaster Risk Reduction and Management, supported by Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), which is currently in survey process. \u00a0Testing of the Thai language standardization for Myanmar people is also a work in progress as there are a huge number of Myanmar people working in Thailand, including cooperation with Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in offering scholarships under Thailand Scholarship scheme for qualified candidates from CLMV countries.<\/p>\n
