On behalf of president of Naresuan University, Dr. Phisut Apichayakul, Vice President for International Relations and Technology Transfer receive a group of overseas guests, 6 master’s degree students and 2 researchers, from Can Tho University, Vietnam led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khoi Nghia, Deputy Head of Soil Science Faculty, College of Agriculture. As Phitsanulok province key GDP mainly driven by agricultural products, cooperation with Can Tho University would help assist in adding values to organic plants, medicinal plants, aromatic plants and other relevant products. NU Faculty of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment (AGI) also arranged a separate meeting at the faculty, coordinated by NU Graduate School, to discuss a possible double degree program between College of Agriculture and Faculty of AGI besides a close linkage with NU Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Social Sciences. The meeting was also attended by representatives from Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medical Science and Faculty of Science. Established in 1976, College of Agriculture focuses on teach and research in soil science, emphasizing 3 key mechanisms: i.e., soil fertility, soil health and soil conservation leading to the ultimate goal of agriculture resilience. This is aided by learning the nature of soil through formation, degradation, erosion, contamination and sanitization. Process of steps taken into account for a double degree program introduced, and an opportunity for students from Can Tho University to spend a short-term and long-term exchange activities at Naresuan University informed.
The meeting occurred on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 9.00 a.m. at Supankanlaya Room, Office of the President and later at 10.30 a.m. at AG 1104, Faculty of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment.
