Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University, extended her warm welcome to a group of four distinguished delegates from partnered universities; i.e., Aston University from the United Kingdom and Technological University Liberec from Czech Republic, led by Prof. Dr. under MEDIPOL project funded by Horizon 2020; Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) and Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE). The project, handled by Center of Excellence in Biomaterial and Faculty of Science, invited these team members to take part in facilitating a workshop on ‘European Commission Research Funding’ for NU staff and graduate students. The delegates also had an opportunity to visit department of Optometry, which the field is available as one of the four Thai universities, in Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and department of Ophthalmology in Faculty of Medicine. Molecular Design of Polymers for Biomedical Applications (MEDIPOL) focuses on exchange of researchers and postgraduate students in medical products and biomaterials, which 25 NU students has participated in the project to date whereas experienced researchers from partners in the U.K., Czech Republic and Spain were invited to give lectures at NU from time to time. Faculty of Science, on the other hand, is working on formalizing an MoU with Technical University of Liberec (TUL), known for its research in large scale production of electro spinning commercialized for the use of nanofiber materials, and plans of action between TUL and NU are being collaborated.
