A Link with Tokyo Medical and Dental University Strengthened

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nithra Kitreerawutiwong, Dean of Public Health, brought Prof. Dr. Keiko Nakamura, Head of Department of Global Health Entrepreneurship from Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TDMU), Japan alongside with Dr. Vo Thi Hue Man, Lecturer from College of Public Health Sciences, Chulalongkorn University to meet with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University.  Prof. Dr. Nakamura was invited by Faculty of Public Health to give a lecture on ‘Global Health Entrepreneurship towards Planetary Health’ on January 25-26, 2024, which is part of NU World Class: Food and Herb for Health and Beauty project under the framework of ‘Reinventing University’ financially supported by Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.  Health service delivery in Japan brings involvements of local people and stakeholders to identify areas which could improve for better delivery combined with research and studies in sustainability of healthcare services, which also take social related issues into account.  Naresuan University takes health service delivery as one of the major thrives, while realizing demographic information of aging society that Thailand is entering into, and expands health services for rural areas in responsible provinces by producing as many quality graduates in relevant fields to serve communities, particularly those living along the border.  TDMU, soon to merge with Tokyo Institute of Technology and become Institute of Science Tokyo, and NU Faculty of Public Health plan to develop research proposals and other collaborative activities to create innovative solutions to current global health issues.
