Naresuan University Welcomes a Delegation from Royal Thai Consulate General in Hong Kong


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Padgate, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, received a group of delegates from Royal Thai Consulate General in Hong Kong led by Ms. Parichat Prapainop (Labor Section) and staff from MGM Macau who proposed to Naresuan University to introduce career opportunities available at the company based in Hong Kong.  Established as MGM Grand in 1993 in the U.S., MGM Grand has branches in several major cities around the globe; one of which is located in Hong Kong with currently employed 12,000 staff members where 30% of them are non-local staff.  Offering competitive welfare and supporting facilities and services in the Hong Kong branch, the post of Food and Beverage Attendant was introduced to the plenary whereas other available positions such as Thai Traditional Masseur would be inform later.  Qualified applicants, requiring basic knowledge of Chinese language at communication level or well-command of the English language, will have an opportunity to be trained for 6 months and entitled to receive relatively high monthly wage, 14 day accommodation settle down cost in Macau, meals, uniform, laundry service, visa/work permit (assisted by Royal Thai Consulate General) and a return airfare ticket.  He/she takes care of only the expenses of medical checkup and passport fee.  NU undergraduate students, specifically in their final year of studies, could take advantage of this offer to spend professional training in MGM Macau.  After the discussion concluded, the group was taken to observe the operation of traditional Thai medicine and massage at Faculty of Public Health.

The meeting, attended by representatives from Faculty of Business, Economics and Communications, Faculty of Humanities and Naresuan University International College, occurred on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 2.30 p.m. at Mini Conference Room, Center for Information Technology and Communication Services.
