Exciting Partnership Prospects between NU and North Chiang Mai University

Warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hui Goo, Dean of Innovation College from North Chiang Mai University (NCU), together with Mr. Lei Wang, President of China Skill Vision Group, discussed possible collaborative activities between the two universities. North Chiang Mai University is keen to assist NU to locate a potential Chinese university for an establishment of Confucius Institute (CI) at NU. This, however, requires NU seek a host faculty/school (Faculty of Humanities or International College) to push projects, Chinese language trainings, bilateral activities, etc should the CI be set up. A 2+2 academic program between North Chiang Mai Innovation College and NU International College or Faculty of Business, Economics and Communications was also raised so that participating students from two universities would benefit from earning degrees from two universities. Alternately for NU Faculty of Law, it was proposed that business students from Innovation College, NCU may spend times to take relevant law courses at NU considered subsequently beneficial for their future careers. Naresuan University is also considered a future destination for Chinese students who hold the College English Test (CET) and interested to become registered students at NU in any level of studies. The NCU team was also taken for a campus tour prior to the meeting by Asst. Prof. Dr. Usa Padgate, Assistant to the President for International Affairs.

The discussion was arranged on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 11.00 at Supankanlaya Room 2, Office of the President.
