Collaborative Research in Disaster Management with University of Twente

 

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University, extended a warm welcome to Asst. Prof. Dr. Dinand Alkema from University of Twente, the Netherlands during his official visit to Faculty of Engineering to give lectures to staff and students in relevant to disaster management, multi-hazard modelling (floods, mudflows, landslides) and an open-source tools for ultrafast flood modelling.  A discussion with president Tantanee focused on research/educational collaborations, particularly between Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation of University of Twente and Faculty of Engineering of Naresuan University.  Such collaborations, directed towards emerging issue like earthquake using remote sensing technology to predict the occurrence and the use of AI applications for landslide to mitigate loss and reduce risks, could seek funding from ERASMUS Plus program or Thai Network for Disaster Resilience (TNDR).
