A Research on MORE+3 between HNEI and NU

Prof. Dr. Richard Rocheleau, Director of Hawaii Energy Institute (HNEI), University of Hawaii, USA, together with Dr. Cung Vu, met with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University, executive members and a team from School of Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Technology (SGtech) to discuss collaborative activities and a joint research project on solar drive battery.  HNEI, given a broader range of collaborative projects in terms of clean and green energy with Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Chulalongkorn University and Naresuan University through School of Renewable Energy and Smart Grid Technology, is in pursuit of balancing between commercialization research while at the same time offers solutions for people in global scale.  In 2017, it received funding from the U.S. government to cooperate with a number of communities in Southeast Asian Region.  Solar energy, among other major renewable energy such as geothermal, hydro power and wind power, is intensively developed into battery application to provide as much efficiency as possible while preserving enough energy for continuous use and not jeopardizing reliability.  HNEI team will work closely with SGtech on MORE+3 Research: Machine Learning-Driven Optimization of Renewable Energy with Battery Energy Solar Systems, Economic and Environmental Benefits, and a renewal of the MoU between the two institutions was also discussed.

The meeting took place on Monday, September 9, 2024 at 9.00 a.m. at Supankanlaya Room, 2nd Floor, Office of the President.
