Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University (NU), warmly received Mr. Pranav Ganesh, Consul of India, the Consulate of India, Chiang Mai upon his official visit to NU. The visit stemmed from the 11th International Yoga Day hosted by NU in cooperation with the Consulate of India on 26 June 2025; the second visit emphasized strengthening of collaboration between Naresuan University and the Indian Government. Mr. Ganesh is keen to help assist in encouraging students, particularly postgraduate students, to study at NU given its readiness in degree programs and experienced lecturers and researchers. President Tantanee indicated that interested Indian students may benefit from participating in the two-week ‘Naresuan University Cultural Exchange Program in Thailand (NUCEPT),’ held twice a year, in order to get an initial impression about learning environment and Thai culture before making actual decisions for degree program study. The Consul of India was also introduced to ‘Humanities Day,’ an international culture event, held annually by Faculty of Humanities (and this year on Tuesday, 4 August 2026), in which he expressed an interest for the Consulate of India to join so that NU staff and students learn unique Indian culture and study opportunities in India. Mr. Ganesh also proposed to NU to consider a formal cooperation with ‘Consortium of Universities in Bangalore’ as this could potentially serve as a new destination for outbound NU students under semester/cultural exchange programs.
The meeting was arranged on Thursday, 9 July 2026 at 13.00 at Supankanlaya Room, Office of the President.
