A U.S. Fulbright Scholar for Research and Teaching at Naresuan University

 

Serving as a lecturer in School of Interdisciplinary Health, Western Michigan University, USA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shannon McMorrow was warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University alongside with executive staff members from Faculty of Public Health. Dr. McMorrow plays a key role under Fulbright Specialist Program linked with NU Faculty of Public Health; the person is expected to assist in organizing seminars and workshops, including providing consultation for faculty development and contributing to curriculum development from 1-20 July 2025. To utilize Dr. McMorrow’s expertise, Faculty of Public Health also plans to arrange two important events; i.e., a special lecture on Photovoice as a Tool for Planetary Health to be held on 8 July 2025. Photovoice involves staff members to reach out to different local communities, observe problematic areas (environmental issues or health issues, etc.) and shoot photos to be brought back for later discussion for further solutions/improvements. The other is the 2nd NU PH Planetary Health Seminar 2025 under the theme “From Public Health to Planetary Health: Bridging Science and Society for a Sustainable Future, to be convened on 14 July 2025 where staff members from other faculties, such as Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design and Faculty of Science, will serve as panelists.

The meeting occurred on Wednesday, 2 July 2025 at 13.30 at Supan Kanlaya Meeting Room, 2nd Floor, Office of the President.
