Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sarintip Tantanee, President of Naresuan University (NU), alongside with Dr. Phisut Apichayakul, Vice President for International Relations and Technology Transfer and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Usa Padgate, Assistant to the President for International Affairs, presided over an orientation for 18 bachelor’s degree students from 17 Faculties/College who were selected to take part in the 2026 Short-term Intercultural Exchange Student Program at Multimedia University, Malaysia on 10-23 May 2026. The two-week program, operated by one of the closest NU international partners in Malaysia: Multimedia University, offers a wide range of English language activities, Bahasa Malaysia classes, traditional Malaysian arts and culture learning and visitation to historical sites in the old city Malacca. President Tantanee advised the students to utilize this opportunity by exposing and adapting to new environment; learning cultural diversities among peers and people in the city; making friends and initiating networking. Most importantly, all the students represented not only NU but Thailand and encouraged them to act as respectable ambassadors, including exchange points of view and perspectives with peers and professors over there to shape global citizen mindset.
Division of International Affairs and Language Development (DIALD) arranges a pre-sessional training for these students on 5-7 May 2026, covering Cross-Cultural Communication and presentation and learning experienced shared by the previous batch of students. A topic on ‘Do’s and Don’ts, Cultural Immersion’ is also offered to all participants by an NU Malaysian student, including traveling information by DIALD staff members before the students’ departure to Malaysia.
The orientation was arranged on Tuesday, 5 May 2026 at 11.00 at Naresuan Meeting Room 102, Office of the President.
